Personality:
Gentle:  Dilbert is a gentile giant, carefully tending the gardens despite his/her immense strength. S/he adores gentile activities, being soft with his/her actions and making sure that his/her strength never gets out of hand. Unfortunately, when s/he isn't gentle, lots of things get broken on accident, so Dilbert makes sure to keep his/her paws soft and careful. Because of this, Dilbert is incredibly aware of her/his own dimensions and takes immense care not to run into anyone or anything on accident. There are always slip ups, but s/he tries her/his very best.  

Creative: Dilbert loves to create and to make things anew. Drawing and painting are his/her favorite pastimes, and s/he often will draw on the walls if s/he runs out of paper. Chintz refuses to paint over the walls and insists that if Dilbert wants to draw on the walls, then when s/he wants his/her art hidden, s/he has to wash the walls. This discouraged the habit of drawing without paper, though now s/he just draws all over his/her room. After all, it doesn't have to worry about sharing it with anyone. The paintings cover the walls, sometimes reaching off of their canvases. 

Cheerful: even when Dilbert hurts him/herself or something bad happens, s/he tried his/her best to smile through it. S/He signs it's because his/her father smiles so rarely, but it's simply a part of his/her nature. S/He's always looking at the bright side to everything, though s/he sympathies with those who are downcast or gloomy. S/He is rarely seen not smiling, unless s/he's concentrating particularly hard on something, and if s/he does cry, then it's usually a pretty big deal. S/He inherited his/her father's emotional toughness, though it's more centered around being happy than around being neutral.

Curious: Dilbert loves seeing how things work, though s/he has very little mathematical skill. Things like carpentry and machine-making interest him/her greatly, secondarily, though, to art. S/He will dig through piles of dirt all day in order to find cool rocks and shiny objects. S/He will open up machines in order to watch them work, and his/her immunity to electricity means s/he doesn't get shocked. Often s/he gets his/her little red nose into things s/he isn't supposed to because of his/her curiosity

Self-Depreciating:  Dilbert tends to look down on her/himself most of the time, taking any work that s/he does lightly and looking upon anything that s/he's made with shame. Most of the time, though s/he never lets anyone know, and tends to act as though everyone sees her/himself as s/he does. Which, of course, leads to some misunderstandings and a very disgruntled father, where Chintz tends to get upset if he finds out that Dilbert has been thinking badly of her/himself. Even though they bounce back and for a while, Dilbert has higher self-esteem, there are always lingering pains.  

Withdrawn: Because s/he can't speak, most of the cats in the world have this... barrier of inaccessibility around them. Every conversation is a challenge to find new ways to communicate, and no matter what, it's always fraught with the nervousness of new things. Dilbert, because of so long of only being able to communicate with sign or written language, tends to prefer not to communicate at all with anyone who isn't fluent in sign language. S/he tends to hold emotions in without speaking about them because of this feeling of isolation that s/he holds.

Background History Dilbert was hatched at five in the morning on a Friday, and knows nothing but cuddles, his parents, and his sister, Dotty junior. After discovering that he had an affinity for gardening and the like, he became steadfast in the idea that he would become a villager. He worked hard and made friends that had villager positions, even though the death of some brought him a great deal of pain. He decided to work harder than ever at that point, even making his own tiny garden comprised mostly of weeds in the front of the house.

Then came the day that his mother and sister went missing. Dilbert still doesn't quite know what happened, but he surely won't be telling anyone anytime soon. Shortly after the event, Dilbert stopped talking, becoming mute. Even after his mother and sister returned, his mother lacking her memory and acting completely different from how she had been, he didn't speak a word. He will occasionally make small sounds (it is painful for him, however) if he wants to get someone's attention, but other than that, he remains silent. After meeting a cat named Minx and finding out that you could be whatever gender you wanted, Dilbert decided to wear the scarves that Minx gave him/her to show what gender s/he felt like being that day. Although s/he normally is a boy, sometimes s/he will put on the pink scarf instead.

Dilbert graduated the kitten ranks to become a villager, following his/her dreams of creating for a living. Although he/she has less time now to create art, the work is rewarding and hard. Dilbert makes sure to make time for his.her best friend, Dawn, so that they can all hang out for as long as possible and as often as possible, even going to the lengths to line up schedules so that they can spend the time with one another. In Dilbert's eyes, Dawn has become a part of the family, his/her father Chintz accepting Dawn and actually liking her. The three will sometimes do things together just to get Chintz out of the house, and normally they all get along rather well. Of course, it wasn't too long after that things seemed to progress... frighteningly fast. 

Just months later, Dilbert found her/himself conflicted with a dangerous proposal. Like, a literal proposal. After thinking it over and over, Dilbert had decided to go to Chintz asking about his marriage and how he felt about the whole thing, which, of course, got her/him a lengthy anecdote from a cat who hardly ever said five words in conjunction. After deciding that the feelings were real and there was no mistaking it, Dilbert went to Dawn and officially proposed after asking her if she wanted to marry her/him. A date was set, and sooner than Dilbert could blink, s/he was faced with the terrifying and exciting prospect of marriage.

-Speckles- my mom! I.... she's gone now, but I'll always remember her and how awesome she was for me. 

-Chintz- My dad. I'm so proud of him in so many ways for who he's become.   

-Aire- She babysitted DJ and me a few times. She's pretty cool- I like her stories. 

-Dotty Junior (DJ)- my sis! she can be sort of mean sometimes, but I know she doesn't mean it. She died in the hospital in the same month she got hurt... I.. I miss her... a lot...

-Flare- She was a good cat, even though I knew her for just a little bit. 

-Minx- I... she was really nice to me, no denying that, but after I figured out she was a rocket? I can't trust her. Rockets can't be trusted- she'll probably try to trick me!

-Dawn- Dawn's my best friend and the cat I want to spend the rest of my life with. I don't really know what I would do without her

-Cade- He's really cute! His mom is pretty awesome, too.

-Nikko- She's awesome! and, like, super old.

-Kylee- She's pretty cool! We talked a bit when I was really young, and had lunch together a while ago

-Erza- She helped me get home when I was lost- when I was a kit- she's pretty cool.

Dilbert nodded, his eyes wide and eager. As soon as she put words to it, he felt... a little guilty. She said that it was scary, but exciting. If she wanted to get married and... was it his duty? He wasn't exactly sure how it worked, honestly. All he knew was that his father proposed to his mother, and that that's how it usually was done, but he wasn't exactly sure why. In any case, her explanation alluded to the fact that she wanted it, and that very fact made him wonder why he hadn't asked earlier. Perhaps he just didn't like thinking too much into the future, or even that he didn't know how. In any case, when Dawn shared her emotions with him, he felt his inhibitions fade to specks. 

A warmth filled him, and he felt his heartbeat quicken despite the calmness of it. There was an excitement, or... an eagerness. He blinked, and when she separated from him, Dilbert's eyes went wide and he knew without a doubt that she wanted to get married. And, for that moment that he shared her emotions, he did too. Without a doubt. Pursing his lips, he put his front paws together and looked down, trying to put words together that might explain what he was feeling. He... he did want to marry her, and he supposed he wanted to make her happy more than anything else. Swallowing, he nodded internally and sat up a little straighter, squaring his jaw is though getting ready to face some sort of challenge. 

'I don't have a ring, but I wanted to... make sure that you wanted to get married before I put that pressure on you." he signed, smiling somewhat feebly and lowering his ears. He felt a little underprepared, then. He supposed he expected her to be just as nervous as he was, but then that was... incorrect of him. Swallowing, he shrugged and offered a sheepish smile. He supposed it was supposed to be some grand romantic thing, a proposal. But he was woefully unprepared for something like that, and he would probably make a fool of himself trying to make a grand gesture. 

'Do you... want to go get one?' He asked, the words coming from somewhere. But then he supposed that was how it ought to go. 'Because I think I want to marry you.' Probably the least romantic way to put it, but he had never been good at romance, really.
